With an overall experience of more than 20 years in the field of psychiatry, Dr. Sheheryar Jovindah is a leading Consultant Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist, and the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mind Professionals.

Dr. Jovindah completed his M.B.B.S. from Allama Iqbal Medical College before proceeding to the Republic of Ireland to pursue higher training in general adult psychiatry. He subsequently worked in Dublin, Ireland, as a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist.

Dr. Jovindah then shifted to the United Kingdom (UK), where he received further higher training in child and adolescent psychiatry, subsequently working as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK. In addition to being dual-trained, Dr. Jovindah holds a special interest in psychotherapy as well, having received higher training in various forms of therapy, including Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Since his return to Pakistan in 2010, Dr. Jovindah has been working at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre as part of their psycho-oncology service. He also remains a visiting consultant psychiatrist at Doctor’s Hospital, and holds his practice at National Hospital, DHA. He works closely with schools, working to educate teachers and reach out to groups of educators and parents to discuss issues being faced by the children. He has also made various television appearances, discussing matters of psycho-social awareness.

The idea for a multi-disciplinary therapy center was conceived after his return to Pakistan, when he saw the dismal conditions of the resources available to those struggling with mental health difficulties, and the lack of cohesion between the professionals tending to a single individual. These concerns paired with his keen interested to de-stigmatize mental illness, led to the establishment of a unique and premier multi-disciplinary therapy center, which offers services for all mental health problems, across the age range.

Even upon his return, Dr. Jovindah knew such a center was not a luxury but a need for those who wished for quality mental-health care. And now, in February 2018, Mind Professionals opens its doors to the community.
